Alex Kehm has a tremendous spirit of volunteerism and demonstrates exemplary leadership and service to inspire others. In 2007 he founded Fenton Passback, an organization committed to providing underprivileged children locally and world-wide with Soccer equipment. The program helps meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of all communities, regardless of income, gender, or location. To this end, he partnered with the U. S. Soccer Foundation Passback program, Major League Soccer and Eurosport to establish a Passback chapter in the St. Louis area.
In order to accomplish his goal Alex knew he needed to involve others. He contacted friends, church members, soccer teammates, local athletic equipment stores, and local newspapers. He made brochures and flyers to distribute around the community. Alex gave speeches around the local community and to soccer coaches. In short, Alex was able to involve the entire community in this endeavor. From peers to local community leaders and businesses, Alex’s grassroots efforts created a buzz that spurred the entire area to action.
The end result was that Alex initially collected over 250 pieces of soccer gear that went to help hundreds of kids in the St. Louis area and around the world. Because of this initial success, additional donations have continued to come in. Fenton Passback, through Alex’s efforts and belief in his community has become an instrument for positive change in the St. Louis area.
To date Fenton Passback has assisted in collecting over 13,000 pieces of soccer gear. Fenton Passback has distributed gear to the Mathew-Dickey's Boys and Girls club for underprivileged kids in St. Louis, Honduras, Africa and also to Eurosport that distributes the gear to kids world-wide in need.
